To be honest, it’s true that many consider Halloween a pagan holiday, but come on. It’s truly a darned excuse for children to go out and get some candy. In fact, do you know one of the reasons that the U.S. pushed back DST in the fall until after Halloween? It’s because the candy manufacturers had been lobbying for years over it.
That said, a guest writer, Kimberly Daniels, wrote a blog post on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) site (since deleted) which stated that Christians needed to skip the Halloween celebration because it’s evil. Although the post has been deleted, you can see from a screenshot (click the above image) that it was there.
Here’s some of what Daniels said:
“Most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches,” Daniels wrote. “I do not buy candy during the Halloween season. Curses are sent through the tricks and treats of the innocent whether they get it by going door to door or by purchasing it from the local grocery store. The demons cannot tell the difference.”
Here’s what I say: fine. More candy for me.
