Scientology has been a good joke for some time now, especially with some of the rantings of Tom Cruise and the crazy description of their belief by South Park (see below).

It seems that these past few days have added to the craziness of Scientology substantially.  It all started with Paul Haggis, Oscar winning director best known for the film Crash.  Apparently, Paul has been less than happy with Scientology’s treatment of Gay’s in California so after a little bickering with Scientology’s national spokesman Tommy Davis, Paul Haggis has not only left Scientology but left with a bang.  Paul wrote an open long letter to Scientology (first part can be found here, with links to the rest) which not only rips them a new asshole, but actually does so in a way that is truly entertaining.

Tommy Davis later goes on to be interviewed by ABC, where he gets upset at the questions and storms out after slamming his mic on the floor … take a look (last 20 seconds or so):

To top it all off, Scientology just lost a lawsuit in France for upwards of $1 Million.

A Paris court convicted the Church of Scientology of fraud and fined it more than euro600,000 ($900,000) on Tuesday but stopped short of banning the group as prosecutors had demanded.

The group’s French branch immediately announced it would appeal the verdict.

The court convicted the Church of Scientology’s French office, its library and six of its leaders of organized fraud. Investigators said the group pressured members into paying large sums of money for questionable financial gain and used “commercial harassment” against recruits.

Hopefully, this is only the beginning for Scientology.  Like most others, I despise this religion not so much because of their beliefs, but primarily for their means of forcing their views on those that disagree.  Any religion that resorts to suing people into submission needs to go.

As promised, the South Park video that explains the true belief of Scientology:
