The next flotilla to Gaza scheduled from Turkey encountered stiff Israeli opposition – so far, diplomatic. Yet, there is no good reason to oppose it.
Turkey repeatedly intercepted Iranian weapons shipments. Most certainly, the new IHH flotilla has no significant weapons on board for Gazans. At the very least, Israeli intelligence can quietly check the cargo upon loading. Even if some weapons go through, they would be a minuscule amount compared to the regular flow from Egypt.
Intercepting the flotilla would bring Israeli relations with Turkey to a new down precisely in the moment when Turkey, faced with Iranian quest for regional hegemony, seeks realignment.
