While I can’t speak about everyone, I can say that most of us who spent our adolescence in the 80s remember our Big Wheels. I still remember the feeling I had when I first got my Big Wheel and took it out to show my friends. I remember the proud feeling I had as I drove around in it looking down at all my friends that didn’t have a Big Wheel of their own. Well, that was then … this is something completely different.
While I can’t possibly justify purchasing such a machine as this, I can only imagine that I would feel similarly if I could drive it down my block. I would thumb my nose at all my neighbors and make sure to brag to all my friends.
This beast, properly titled The Green Machine, is built by Parker Brothers Custom Chopper. It looks like a substantial show piece, and doesn’t seem like it is overly powerful (contrary to the Parker Brothers claims). It has an 80cc Harley-Davidson Evo engine and seems to top out at about 50mph. While I am sure the pickup is great, I can’t imagine it is overly stable at high speeds considering its dimensions … but, then again, what do I know?
Most interesting is that Parker Brothers Choppers aren’t at all looking to make this bike street legal. Instead, they are hoping for approval from the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest wheel on a trike. Either way, I am sure this bike will turn heads, giving Parker Brothers Choppers some good publicity.
