During the Occupy movements 2 month anniversary, 2 American FEMEN activists took to the streets protesting police brutality. The main Ukrainian chapter support this new New York chapter fully, condemning the actions taken by police especially that of brutality against peaceful women protesters in New York.

As most protesters, FEMEN are appalled that the police are acting in such a way and further condemn them for condemn them for their abuse actions as well as neglecting people of their constitutional rights, freedom of speech and right to protest.

It is unclear how active this New York chapter plan on becoming, and information about this New York chapter is rather limited. There was previously a press release with more information about these girls, but that post has been removed from their blog.

None the less, I expect we will be seeing more of these women as Occupy protests heat up. We may even see new branches of FEMEN springing up in different cities. Since they tend to attract beautiful women to their cause, FEMEN may well turn into a global force for human rights.

Below is a video of the protest along with some publicly available photos taken from FEMEN’s livejournal website.
