Well and good, Hamas rejected Israel’s latest offer. As usual, the Arabs blamed Israel for breaking the almost-done deal and refusing “reasonable demands.” In a sense, they are right: Hamas follows a clear policy during the negotiations and did not change its demands. Israel, on the contrary, is constantly wavering and has no policy: the government agrees to release of particular murderers based on their media image rather than any firm guidelines.
Now the German mediator will help Hamas press Israel. He is personally close to Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists, and depend on being able to convince Israel for further improving his reputation with terrorists and ultimately his position in German security establishment.
