Now that airfare has become cheaper, and China’s middle class has grown substantially, more and more airlines are entering the Chinese markets. An airline offers a slew of important jobs to a wide variety of people. Of those jobs, the most visible are probably the flight attendants.
In the USA, as much of the Western world, employers are not allowed to make decisions based on age or gender. In China, however, such rules do not apply. Chinese airlines are well aware of the prominent demographic using their services, well to do middle to upper class men. Hence, it is in their best interest to provide these men with optimal eye candy.
With the Chinese gender demographic swayed much into male direction, men are thought to be much more likely to fly on an airline who employs beautiful stewardesses. So, airline companies are now doing their best to select the ideal woman. Sure, they hire men too, but they also go through an excruciating interview process … one predominantly based on the physical.
Here are some photos of said interview process. I don’t think that they need any captioning, they pretty much speak for themselves.
