Filmmaker James Cameron picked up the Best Director gong at the Golden Globes Awards for his blockbuster film ”Avatar”.

The 3D sci-fi epic also won an award for Best Feature – Drama.

Bradley Cooper-starrer screwball comedy ”Hangover” was adjudged Best Feature – Comedy, reports Variety magazine.

Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock was declared the Best actress- Drama for her role in ”The Blind Side”, and actor Jeff Bridges took way the Best actor- Drama for ”Crazy Heart” among the likes of George Clooney, Tobey Maguire and Morgan Freeman.

Veteran star Meryl Streep also won the Best actress- Comedy or Musical for ”Julie and Julia”, while Robert Downey Jr. received best actor in the same category for ”Sherlock Holmes”.
